Still More to Discover at This Year’s Show
We’ve still got plenty more going on at this year’s Hereward Wargames Show, even where our participating clubs and traders haven’t been able to send us photos or full descriptions for individual previews.
Members of Peterborough Wargames Club will be running Battle of Holme, using Lion Rampant in 28mm. Set in 902, a Danish army led by King Eohric and the claimant to the throne of Wessex, Æthelwold, clashes with the forces of King Edward in a battle where, as the chronicles put it, “much slaughter was made…” They’ll also be bringing BattleTech Aces, a hands-on introduction to the programmed game system where players can take on a card-driven opponent in a campaign.
Huntingdon and District Wargames Society will be recreating Anarchy in Oxford, using Lion Rampant in 28mm. With Empress Matilda trapped inside Oxford Castle, King Stephen’s forces need only starve out the defenders to end her resistance. But then the defenders launch a sally from the castle – can they break the siege?
Feelnopaint Studio will be bringing Trench Crusade, a Weird World War I setting featuring 32mm miniatures.
And joining our traders will be Old Crow Models, offering their own range of science-fiction vehicles and accessories in 28mm, 15mm and 6mm scales.
So even if you haven’t seen a dedicated preview for them, keep an eye out for all these games and traders when you visit Hereward!
