Our painting competition attracts more and more entries each year and is a great way for you to show off what you’ve been up to in your hobby time. Unlike some painting competitions ours is as much about vibes as about outright technical skill, so we encourage everyone attending the show to enter something!
We have four categories:
- Historical – sponsored by Pemberleys Scenics
- Fantasy – sponsored by ForMySin Designs
- Sci-Fi – sponsored by SMFX Models and More
- Under 16s Open – sponsored by Mammoth Miniatures
We suggest you enter a single miniature, vehicle or small squad of models. These can be from any manufacturer or can be completely scratch built. Entries to the Under 16s Open category can be literally anything!
Thanks to our generous sponsors, this year we are able to offer prizes to the winner and runner up in each category. The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of £25, a trophy, a prize supplied by the category sponsor and a set of brushes courtesy of Orange Brushes. Runners up in each category will receive a can of spray paint courtesy of Colour Forge and an additional prize from Pemberleys Scenics. We are most grateful to these business for offering prize support.

All entries must be received by: 12:00pm (midday) on the day of the show
- Each contestant may make only one entry per category.
- Each entry must be entered in one category that best describes the entry from the following list:
- Historical
- Fantasy
- Sci-Fi
- Under 16’s
- All category entries are at the discretion of the competition organiser.
- Each category winner will receive a prize of at least £25 cash and a trophy.
- All entries will be exhibited to the public during the show and results will be announced at 2:00pm.
- All entries will be exhibited on a station manned at all times. By entering this competition you accept that Peterborough Wargames Club will not be held liable for any loss damage or theft of any entries.
- Entries can be collected after 2:30pm.
- The judge/s will be chosen by Peterborough Wargames Club.
- The competition is open to members of Peterborough Wargames Club, however the painting competition organiser and judges are not permitted to enter.
- It is a condition of entry that you consent to Peterborough Wargames Club taking and using images of your entry to promote the Hereward Wargames Show.
