You can now buy advance tickets for the show (£3 each) from the Buy Tickets link in the menu bar.
Additionally, as last year, we will not be running a bring and buy. However, borrowing an excellent idea from the folks at Hammerhead and elsewhere, we will be running a tabletop sale. You may book a one-hour slot on a table in the main hall to sell your wares, for £5 in addition to your admission fee. We recommend booking in advance as this may govern how many tables we make available.
Please note that slots include 5 minutes each setup and clear-away time, and are at 10:30-11:30, 11.30-12:30, 12:30-1:30 snd 1:30-2:30. As of now we have four tables available for each time slot – this is subject to change depending on demand.
The fifth confirmed trader for Hereward 2016 is another new name to the show in Crooked Dice Game Design Studio, the geniuses behind the 7TV game. We anticipate that Crooked Dice will be demonstrating 7TV on the day. Find out more at www.crooked-dice.co.uk
The fourth confirmed trader for Hereward 2016 is Peterborough based PE2 Collectables. They are Warlord Games specialists and can offer almost anything from the extensive Warlord range at discounts of at least 10%. They also carry goodies from Perry Miniatures, The Army Painter, Rubicon, Plastic Soldier Company, Tor Gaming and Early War Miniatures as well as a wide range of 2nd hand items! Check out their website at www.pe2collectables.co.uk
For those of you who missed last year’s show, or maybe just want to reminisce a bit, Neil Shuck has written us a very generous review in the new Miniature Wargames (issue 394).
As far as this year goes, you may notice we’ve just got the new website up at http://www.hereward-wargames.co.uk/ (just in case you’re reading this on Facebook) – signup form for participation games and a reminder of how to request a trade stand will be going up later this weekend, just as soon as our webmaster gets it all set up.
The show will remain at the Cresset and subject to sufficient interest will expand slightly in terms of floor space. This means we should be able to accommodate several more lovely games and traders, and possibly some different or larger tournaments!
We will shortly start issuing publicity material and taking bookings from participation games and interested traders.
If there’s anything you would like to tell us about this year’s show that you think could help us improve in the future please feel free to get in touch!
The Hereward Show team and all at Peterborough Wargames Club would like to extend their thanks to all of the Traders, Gamers and members of the public, and the staff of the Cresset that came to Hereward this year and helped to confirm that there is demand for a show in the Peterborough area.
The feedback we have received so far has been overwhelmingly positive and the lessons we have learned will be invaluable for our future shows. If you have any comments on the show, we’d love to hear from you via our feedback form.
Speaking of which, the date for the 2016 Hereward Wargames Show will be SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH. Put it in your diaries now!
