Peterborough Wargames Club are proud to present the Hereward Wargames Show 2023 on Sunday September 3rd at the Cresset, Peterborough. The show returns after a Covid imposed four-year absence and always features an impressive selection of participation games, traders and other gaming related activities. A new attraction for this year’s show is our Pop Up Board Games Cafe where you can try out a selection of board and card games whilst taking the weight off your feet. The games have been supplied by members of Peterborough Wargames Club so we would ask you to treat them with care and return them in good condition. Use of the PUBGC is included in your admission.
Returning as an attraction this year is our Painting Competition which we first ran at our last show in 2019. Entry to the competition is free if you have an admission ticket. There are four categories: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Historical and Under 16s. You are allowed one entry in each category you qualify for. This year there is a cash prize and trophy for the winner of each category. The Painting Competition stand will be found in the alcove at the entrance to the Sovereign Hall (the large hall) where there will be sign-up sheets and display cases. Entries must be received by 12pm and the winners will be announced at approximately 1pm. For full terms and conditions please check the website.

In addition to the traders we have our regular Table Sale which allows members of the public to sell their unwanted items. As these tables are sold in one hour slots there should be a constantly changing selection of items for you to peruse. There will also be a sale of items belonging to Peterborough Wargames Club members at the entry desk.
We have plenty of free on-site parking. Please do not park in the shopping centre car park as it is time limited and you may incur a fine. The Cresset is located at the terminus of Stagecoach bus routes 2 and 3, both of which run half-hourly (route 3 is the quickest). The show is located entirely on one floor with good access for the mobility impaired.
If you haven’t already booked a ticket for this year’s show hopefully this preview will tempt you to come and see us. The show is open from 10am to 4pm. Discount advance tickets (£3) and any remaining Table Sale slots will be available until 9pm on Saturday 2nd September from www.hereward-wargames.co.uk – you don’t need to print them, just show us your barcode or QR code on entry. On the day tickets cost £5 and payment by cash and card is accepted. In all cases accompanied under 16s are admitted free of charge.
See you on September 3rd!
